Do you undervalue your worth?

Do you fail to acknowledge your value?

Have you ever considered yourself less than others?

Take a few minutes and acknowledge yourself and all that you have to offer to the world.

This quote by Glenn Beck is important because I think there are so many people who discredit their value. I know I’ve had trouble with that in the past. Have you?

I remember it was a Tuesday afternoon when I texted a friend to ask how her day was and for her to tell me one good thing that happened that day. She texted me back saying it was her birthday. To my surprise, I had no idea and immediately responded back wishing her a happy birthday. She then mentioned it was no big deal. That’s when it hit me. How often do we forget to acknowledge our own worth?

I believe I responded back with something in the effect of, “Yeah, it’s a big deal because without your birthday you wouldn’t be here.”

Think about the impact various people have made in your life. Now imagine how your life might have been without them. You might be saying, “Well there were a few people I could have done without.”

Let me stop you there because it doesn’t matter if it was a positive or negative impact, it shaped you in to the amazing person you are today. Those negative experiences are equally as important as the positive ones because we learn, grow, and become stronger from both.

Now take a few minutes and think about how you’ve made an impact in other people’s lives, from your family, friends, co-workers, even people you’ve met along the way.

We are all worthy of this journey called life.

If you’ve ever had a moment or moments where you thought to yourself that you weren’t enough, I want to challenge that belief, question if it’s true and ask yourself:

Where did that belief come from?

Why do you feel that way?

Did someone tell you that or did a past negative experience dictate it?

It is so important that we all take the time to do this when we have those thoughts and feelings of low self-worth because they are simply not true.

The sheer fact alone that you are alive means you are a winner.

Think about it, during the time of conception, it was you who won against the other 200 million or so other tadpole-looking competitors frantically swimming in the same direction trying to win the big race.

The sooner we can begin to realize and acknowledge we are all worthy the bigger impact we can make in each other’s lives.

Now it’s your turn.

How does this quote inspire you?

Are you able to recognize your own self-worth and the worth of others? If not and are currently undervaluing who you are, what are the beliefs you are experiencing that are making you feel this way?
